Hard tops are great in that it is easy to add extra toys like radar and GPS antennas. Hard tops are not always hands-down the better choice: they add a considerable amount of weight compared to canvas, and they do need to be waxed from time to time. Lastly, they take up significantly more room that a soft top and they are also much heavier which increases the overall weight of the car leading to increased fuel consumption and decreased performance.
